Shaking Things Up

As a Southern California native, taking on the role of Executive Producer of Special Projects, Politics, and Investigations at NBC Connecticut was one of the biggest risks I had taken in my career and life. At the request of my new boss, I packed up and moved from Los Angeles to New England for the purpose of shaking things up and innovating in a state known as "the land of steady habits."

Under my leadership, we accomplished a great deal. One of my first priorities was to rebrand the investigative unit, which included creating a new visual identity and restructuring our team to improve efficiency and productivity. We produced several award-winning series, including a multipart series that took at critical look at the state’s legacy of local control and their lack of regionalization.

I also had the opportunity to co-create a new Sunday morning public affairs show, which quickly became a staple in the community. The show provided a platform for local leaders, experts, and community members to discuss important issues impacting the region.

In addition to our reporting and programming efforts, I also prioritized community engagement, hosting events that brought together community members, civic leaders, and journalists to discuss important issues impacting the state and work collaboratively towards solutions.
